Spyfire R/C Blaster

Spyfire R/C Blaster

The radio-controlled Spyfire blaster is like an upgraded version of the Wireless USB Missile Launcher – now allowing you to fire it from up to 25 feet away instead of 15.

Not only is it a powerful, battery powered, 4 shot blaster capable of blasting up to 25 feet away – but the handle can separate from the rest of the blaster. You can set the blaster up with its integrated, folding tripod and set it to cover your escape path.

Here’s a video demonstration of the R/C toy in action:

Features:

  • Powerful 4 dart blaster
  • Stores extra ammo in handle
  • Flip-up sight and fold down tripod
  • Electronic power-up and firing sound effects with each shot
  • R/C range: up to 50 feet
  • Shoots up to 25 feet

The Spyfire R/C Blaster measures 3 x 12 x 10 inches and requires 5 x AAA batteries. The product is available from the ThinkGeek website for $29.99.

A Green R/C Insect

R/C Insect

MegaStealth Mantis is the name of the latest model to join Insecta, HeliBug, Flying Bee, Mosquito and the other insect inspired radio-controlled toys out there.

Super superior to other insects (RC and not), the Mantis employs both electronic and mechanical gyroscopic stabilization for rock-steady hovering. The tail-rotor is also controlled by a micro motor for true yaw-axis stability. Move forward, turn left, and turn right – this bug can fly anywhere indoors.

R/C Insect

Power is supplied by an on-board Lithium Polymer battery pack, which is charged via a quick charger built into the Mantis two-stick transmitter.

The MegaStealth Mantis 2-Channel Electric R/C Insect is currently available for $49.95 over at the Edmund Scientific website.

X-Twin Thunderjet R/C Plane

X-Twin Thunderjet

The X-Twin Thunderjet is a powerful radio controlled flying machine, equipped with a pair of duct-fan engines for some extra high-speed enjoyment.

Like its real life USAF counterpart, the sinister Thunderjet looks almost unreal. In fact it reminds us of Firefox, that lethally sophisticated jet from the dodgy Clint Eastwood film of the same name. Unlike Firefox, however, the X-Twin can’t be controlled via thought impulses; you control the action with a twin-toggle, digital proportional transmitter that doubles up as a charging unit for its built-in lithium polymer battery. (20-30 minutes should give flight times of around 5 minutes).

X-Twin Thunderjet

The X-Twin Thunderjet is available in three different colors (Blue, Red and Yellow) for £24.95 (about $50 USD9 from Firebox.

R/C Vampire Bat with Glowing Eyes

BladeRunner iVAMP

This radio controlled creature would definitely have made it into the Top 13 Strangest R/C Toys list if it would have been around at the time of the writing.

The Vamp differs from most other flying toys because it’s an ‘Ornithopter’ – which means it flaps its wings to fly through the air – just like a real bat.

The scary little creature is 10 inches long and flies around with glowing red eyes and a wingspan of 12 inches. 20-30 minutes of charging will give you about 10 minutes of flight time.

The BladeRunner iVAMP is priced at £34.99 (about $72 USD), but is unfortunately out of stock over at Thumbs Up UK at the moment.

Here’s a video demonstration of the radio controlled vampire bat:
